Meet Maxie
🐾 You might spot Maxie wandering through every corner of the homestead, checking on whichever animals happen to be nearby. One minute he's curled up with the cats, the next he's supervising baby ducks, and before long he's making friends with pigs many times his size. If you ever see a tiny Chihuahua proudly carrying off a bone that clearly belongs to one of the giant dogs... you've found Maxie.

Maxie's Journey
Maximus the Great—better known as Maxie—joined our family in December 2020 after we found him through a Chihuahua breeder. He was the last puppy left, and because of unexpected financial circumstances, his breeder needed to find him a loving home.
What started as an early Christmas present for myself quickly became one of the best gifts our family ever received.
Maxie has spent his entire life proving that Chihuahuas deserve better than their reputation. Instead of being loud or snappy, he's calm, gentle, and incredibly well-trained. He gets along with every animal on the homestead and has become one of the friendliest little companions anyone could ask for.
His tiny size is actually his superpower. Maxie slips through gates and small openings that the larger dogs can't fit through, happily making his rounds to visit the chickens, ducks, pigs, goats, and cats. Every animal seems to accept him as one of their own, no matter how much bigger they are.
Despite being the smallest dog on the farm, Maxie has absolutely no idea he's small. He's been known to steal bones from dogs several times his size and proudly parade away with them like he just won a trophy. One of his funniest habits is climbing halfway onto Sparkle, resting his back legs on her while his front paws stay on the ground, as if she's the world's most comfortable chair.
The only resident who refuses to be impressed by Maxie is Jack the goose. Their ongoing disagreement usually ends with Jack chasing Maxie out of the enclosure while Maxi loudly argues that he was winning. It's become one of the funniest traditions on the homestead.
Above everything else, Maxie is a loyal companion with an enormous heart. He reminds us every day that courage, kindness, and friendship have nothing to do with size.
