Meet Sparkle
🐾 You might spot Sparkle trotting across the homestead with a huge grin on her face, investigating whatever caught her attention next. Whether she's checking on the ducks at the pond, supervising visitors, or making sure everyone knows she heard something first, Sparky is always in the middle of the action. Just listen for a cheerful bark—and you'll probably find our curious girl nearby.

Sparkle's Journey
Sparky joined our family on July 29, 2020, thanks to a completely unexpected trip. We weren't looking for another dog—we had simply gone to a local farm to collect pears that were being donated as treats for our animals. While we were filling buckets, Samuel wandered over to a litter of puppies. One little blue merle puppy immediately chose him. She stayed glued to his side, cuddled with him every chance she got, and those beautiful two-colored eyes made her impossible to forget.
Samuel had been saving his own money for a long time, and before we left that farm, he had made up his mind. He proudly bought Sparky himself, making her his very first dog. What started as a trip for pears turned into the day Sparky became part of our family.
Of course, a special puppy needed a special name. Samuel thought her blue merle coat looked like a cloudy night sky covered in tiny stars. Those little speckles seemed to sparkle in the light, so he named her Sparkles. Before long, everyone simply started calling her Sparky, and the nickname stuck.
Since then, Sparky has grown into one of the biggest personalities on the homestead. She believes every new sound deserves investigating, every visitor should be greeted, and every animal is worth checking on. She's endlessly curious, incredibly friendly, and always wears what looks like the biggest smile on her face. Around here she's lovingly known as "Barky," because she always lets everyone know exactly what's happening. She's never mean—just excited to be included in every adventure the homestead has to offer.
