Meet DaBaby
🐾 You might spot DaBaby following closely behind Groot as he learns the ropes of being a livestock guardian. During kidding season, he's often lying outside the goat nursery, keeping a careful eye on the newest arrivals. Or, if it's feeding time, you'll probably find him politely reminding the goats that his dinner is not on the menu.

DaBaby's Journey
Da Baby was born to Freya and Groot here on the homestead, making him Sophie's brother and one of our next-generation livestock guardian dogs. From the beginning, he has had a gentle heart and an eagerness to learn, spending nearly every day following his father around the property and watching how a guardian dog protects the animals.
Like any young guardian, Da Baby has had plenty to learn. During his first kidding season, he became fascinated with the newborn goats and sometimes got a little too excited while trying to play with them. It was all curiosity, never aggression, and as he has matured, he's become calmer and more thoughtful around the babies.
Every season brings new lessons, and watching him grow into his role has been one of the most rewarding parts of homestead life.
One thing Da Baby has always taken seriously is mealtime. He doesn't mind sharing the pasture with everyone else, but if the goats decide his dinner looks better than theirs, he'll quickly remind them that his bowl is off limits. It's one of the few times you'll see his determined side come out.
Today, Da Baby can often be found faithfully shadowing Groot, learning what it means to protect a homestead. He's becoming more confident every day, and we have no doubt he'll grow into the dependable guardian his parents have taught him to be.
